JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
The Protestant University of Rwanda (PUR) invites applications for the position of an Administrative Assistant in the Faculty of Development Studies (FDS). 1. Job Summary
- Office Management:
Coordinate daily faculty office operations, handle correspondence, and
manage office supplies.
- Student Support: Act as
the first point of contact for student inquiries regarding faculty
programs and administrative procedures.
- Records Management:
Maintain and update student files, attendance records, and faculty
databases.
- Meeting Coordination:
Schedule faculty meetings, prepare agendas, and record minutes.
- Logistics: Support the organization
of faculty events, workshops, and student internships or field studies.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in
Office Management, Public Administration, Development Studies, Natural
Resources and Environment Management, Peace and Conflict Studies, Business
Administration and Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in
an administrative or secretarial role is required; experience within a
university setting is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft
Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital communication tools.
- Competencies: Strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication in English, and a high level of professional integrity.

- A photocopy of National ID or a valid Passport (for non-Rwandan candidates).
The Administrative Assistant will provide essential administrative and
operational support to the Faculty of Development Studies. The primary focus is
to ensure smooth administrative workflows, maintain accurate records, and
support the Dean and faculty members in daily academic operations.
2. Contract Duration
This is a fixed-term contract for a period of eight (8) months, starting from May 2026 to December 2026.
